What FreeMouse knows about you: nothing.
Last updated: 10 October 2026
FreeMouse is made by A Brand New Company (ABN). In short: we collect nothing. Everything stays on your own wifi, between your own iPhone and your own Mac. There's no account, no server and no tracking. That's why the App Store says: Data Not Collected.
What we don't do
- You don't create an account. We don't know your name, email address or phone number.
- The apps send nothing to us or anyone else. FreeMouse has no server. There's no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third party crash reporting inside.
- What you type goes straight and encrypted from your iPhone to your Mac. Keystrokes are never stored or logged, not in error reports and not in test builds.
- The helper on your Mac doesn't read your screen and doesn't watch your own keyboard.
What stays on your devices
On your iPhone
- The Macs you paired, with their names, and for each Mac a secret key in your iPhone's Keychain. That key doesn't go to iCloud.
- Your settings, like speed, scrolling and haptics.
On your Mac
- The iPhones you paired, with their name, the date you paired them and when they were last connected, plus a secret key for each iPhone in your Mac's Keychain.
- Your settings, like open at login and pointer speed.
We can't get to any of it. Remove a paired device and its key is gone, so that device can't get in anymore.
Permissions the apps ask for
Local network, on your iPhone and your Mac
To find each other on your own wifi. Nothing goes to the internet.
Camera, on your iPhone
Only to scan the QR code on your Mac when you pair. No photo is taken or kept.
Accessibility, on your Mac
To move the pointer, click and type what you do on your iPhone. FreeMouse only uses that part: it reads nothing on your screen and no other apps. FreeMouse doesn't ask for Input Monitoring, which would let an app watch your own keyboard.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no scripts or fonts from others.
To deliver the pages and the FreeMouse.dmg file to you, our host Vercel Inc. and the Cloudflare Inc. network process technically necessary data, like your IP address, the page address and the time, in server logs. We do this on the basis of legitimate interest: without that data a website doesn't work and can't be protected against abuse. We only use the logs when something goes wrong, and can see them for a day at most. We don't keep or export them. Vercel and Cloudflare keep them a short while longer for security, under their own privacy policies.
Vercel and Cloudflare are American companies, so data may go to the United States. Both are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which allows that transfer under the GDPR.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you, also on the basis of legitimate interest. We keep the email while your question is open and at most a year after, and delete it sooner if you ask.
App Store
You download FreeMouse for iPhone from the App Store. Apple handles that under its own privacy policy. Apple only shows us download figures that can't be traced to you, and crash reports from people who chose to share them with developers.
Children
FreeMouse collects data from nobody, so not from children either.
Deleting
Delete the app or the helper and the paired devices and settings on that device are gone. There's nothing on our side to delete.
Who is responsible
A Brand New Company (ABN), Volume 88, 1446 WJ Purmerend, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 88565548. Reach us at info@abn.company.
Because the apps collect nothing, there's nothing about your use for us to show, correct or erase. If you emailed us, you can always ask to see or delete that email. You also always have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If FreeMouse ever starts collecting anything, we'll say so beforehand, in the app and in the App Store.
